So, it’s the end of the school year and tomorrow is awards day for my 5th and 6th graders. This momma isn’t very excited. Tell me if I’m wrong, but why do schools schedule awards day’s in the middle of the afternoon? Do other middle schools do this? Can anyone explain to me why? I get the pleasure of looking at my sad children’s faces because this mom has no choice but to work, instead of attend an awards ceremony. I do realize that some employers may allow their employees to request off in advance, however many do not allow this without consequence. Can we not have awards programs after normal working hours? Why do we even have awards ceremonies for 5th and 6th grade anyway? It’s not like they are graduating high school or college. I’d love to hear other average mom’s opinions.
Hello World! First time Blogger here. Here’s a short introduction about myself. You guys can call me JJ. I’m a mother of 4 children and a step mother of 2 children. I have been recently married for the first time, so consider me a bit of a newlywed. I work a full-time job from 8-5, Monday through Friday. I am a mother and wife 24 hours a day. I do not have much spare time, but I do enjoy gardening; It keeps me sane. I tend think of myself as the average mom… with just a few extra children than most. I strive to be the perfect mom, but it never happens.. No mom is perfect, but that doesn’t stop me from trying. I am full of stories and have been through the craziest of situations. I’d love to share my story with the world.
